Kristof Kendrick has built an impressive career in basketball coaching, demonstrating a deep commitment to the sport and a track record of success at various levels. Currently in his 12th season with Indiana Elite, Kendrick has been instrumental in helping coach Mark Adams build some of the top teams in the nation. His contributions include leading teams to victories in the Adidas 3SSB (3 Stripes Select Basketball) Championships at the 15U, 16U, and 17U levels.
Kendrick’s coaching journey began with an 8-season stint as an assistant coach at the high school level, where in 2013 he helped Indianapolis Cathedral to a 4A State Runner Up finish. He then moved on to become the Head Coach at T.C. Howe High School, where he program achieved notable success, including being named the 2019 GIAC Conference Coach of the Year. During his time with the Hornets, Kendrick compiled a 35-15 record over two seasons, against the hardest schedule of any Class 2A school per the Sagarin Rankings, guiding the team to two GIAC championships and sectional championship games and a runner-up finish in the 2018 Indianapolis City Tournament.
From 2019 to 2023, Kendrick expanded his collegiate coaching experience as an Assistant Coach at Bradley, Western Michigan, and SIUE, achieving a highlight with a 2020 MVC Tourney title with the Braves. His coaching pedigree is further enriched by his playing career; he earned two letters at Western Michigan, contributing to the Broncos’ 2005 Mid-American Conference West Division title and earning his bachelor’s degree there.
Kendrick’s international background adds a unique dimension to his profile. Born in Geneva, Switzerland, and having lived in Kortrijk, Belgium, before settling in Indiana, Kendrick brings a broad perspective to his coaching. He and his family eventually moved to Indianapolis and West Lafayette, Indiana.
As a prep athlete, Kendrick set a school and county scoring record with 1,481 points at Lafayette Central Catholic, leading the Knights to state titles in 2000 and 2003. In the 2003 title game, he was named AP MVP after a standout performance with 24 points and eight rebounds in the title game.
Basketball is a family tradition for Kendrick. His father, Frank Kendrick, was an All-American forward at Purdue and played a leading role in the Boilermakers’ 1974 NIT Championship. Frank also spent a year with the Golden State Warriors, winning an NBA Title in 1975, and later returned to Purdue to coach under Gene Keady from 1989 to 1999.
Today, Kristof Kendrick is the head coach of the 2027 3SSB Team, continuing his legacy of coaching excellence and commitment to developing young talent in basketball.
